Consulting and Pre-Design Service

A message from Jake Gosselin, Founder & President of Churchfront

If you’re reading this article, you’ve already spoken with our team about your church’s audio visual needs—whether that’s upgrading outdated systems, designing AVL for a new building, or figuring out how to equip your team to operate what you already have. And we’ve identified that our consulting and pre-design service is the right next step for you.

Let me take a few minutes to walk you through exactly what this service is, what you’ll receive, and why it’s the smartest investment you can make before spending a single dollar on equipment or implementation.

The Problem We See Everywhere

Here’s what we see constantly in churches across the country: A church realizes their AVL system is holding back their ministry. Maybe the sound cuts out during worship. Maybe volunteers are frustrated and stepping down. Maybe you’re planning a building project and you need to make decisions about systems.

So what do most churches do? They start researching. They watch YouTube videos. They ask other churches what gear they use. They get bids from integrators—all with widely different price tags and completely different solutions. And now they’re just more confused than when they started.

Here’s the truth: Without a proper diagnosis, you have no way of knowing if you’re being undersold, oversold, or sold the wrong solution entirely. In some situations, you might not even need new equipment at all. Maybe your existing system just needs proper configuration and your team needs training. But you won’t know until someone actually diagnoses the real problem.

What’s Really at Stake

We’re talking about decisions involving hundreds of thousands, sometimes tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars that will impact your ministry for the next ten to fifteen years. The cost of getting this wrong isn’t just financial. It’s volunteer burnout, Sunday morning distractions, and ministry impact lost every single weekend.

That’s exactly why we created our consulting and pre-design service.

We Start With Questions, Not Products

Here’s the thing: We don’t start with product recommendations. We start with questions.

Many churches come to us thinking they know what they need—a new sound console, upgraded cameras, maybe some better speakers. But after we invest time understanding your ministry, your space, and your goals, we often discover the real solution might be something completely different.

Maybe you don’t need a new mixer. You need acoustic treatment to address the foundational sound issues in your room. Maybe the answer isn’t fancier cameras, but better stage lighting. Or maybe you just need an expert to properly configure the gear that you already own.

We call this honest consulting because prescribing the wrong solution wastes your time, budget, and confidence.

Who We Are

Maybe you’re hearing about Churchfront for the first time. Your worship or production leader likely brought us to the table. So let me give you some context on who we are.

Over the past decade, we’ve served more than one thousand churches with our education, consulting, and integration services. We’re a team of ten full-time staff based primarily in Melbourne, Florida, and our YouTube channel reaches over three hundred thousand subscribers, making us a trusted resource that even other consultants and integrators turn to for guidance.

But here’s what really sets us apart: We exclusively serve the local church. Our leadership team has pastoral and ministry training, and our entire team is actively involved in their local churches. We’re not just contractors. We understand ministry because we are in the trenches with you every single week.

Right-Sized Solutions

Our consulting and pre-design service gives you right-sized solutions—not over-engineered, not under-delivered, just what actually moves your ministry forward. And sometimes that solution is new gear. Sometimes it’s optimizing what you already have. Sometimes it’s focused team training. Often, it’s a combination of all three.

But here’s the key: We help you discover the real solution through our proven process, not just sell you what’s easy to install.

What You Get With This Service

1. The On-Site Survey

One of our Churchfront staff members will come to your church for an in-depth on-site consultation. This could take anywhere from two to six hours. We go deep in the weeds of your situation.

We’ll walk through your space together—your sanctuary, your acoustics, your sight lines, your current equipment setup. We’ll review any architectural plans or drawings for construction projects. We’ll talk about your ministry philosophy, your worship style, your weekend attendance, and where you’re headed. We’ll meet with your tech team to understand their experience level, their pain points, and what they wished worked better. We’ll assess your existing systems to see what’s working, what’s not, and what’s possible.

Our job is to understand your unique situation so we can recommend the right solution for your ministry, your space, your team, and your budget.

2. Comprehensive Program Report

Within fourteen to thirty days of that on-site visit, you’ll receive a comprehensive program report from our team. This report includes:

Customized AVL Solutions — Specific recommendations for sound, video, lighting, and integration systems tailored to your ministry and space. We explain exactly what you need and why.

Executive Summary — A non-technical overview you can share with your senior leadership or oversight board. We translate all the technical details into language that clearly communicates ministry impact and stewardship value.

Opinion of Probable Costs — High-level budget projections for the recommended solutions so you know what this is actually going to cost and can plan accordingly or go to your board with accurate numbers.

Design and Engineering Quote — When applicable, detailed specifications for implementation.

Custom Training Quote — If team development is part of the solution, we’ll provide clear pricing for our training programs.

The result? You move from confused to confident, from overwhelmed to equipped. You’ll have absolute clarity on the right path forward—what you need, why you need it, what it costs, and how it will empower your ministry.

The Investment

The consulting and pre-design service is a custom quoted service based on your location and the complexity of your space. Travel costs are included, the on-site visit is included, and the comprehensive report is included within this quote.

Let me give you some context on why this investment makes sense. Most churches are looking at AVL investments that can add up to tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars. Our consulting fee is typically a small percentage of your total project budget, but it protects the entire investment.

You’re making a modest upfront investment to ensure you don’t waste a far larger amount on the wrong solution. That’s not an expense—that’s insurance.

Why This Investment Is So Valuable

We help you see possibilities you didn’t know existed and avoid problems you couldn’t have anticipated.

The real solution often surprises churches. We’ve had churches come to us with one vision, and after our assessment and report, we’ve been able to cast for them a bigger, better vision for what’s actually possible—solutions that would serve their ministry more effectively than what they originally imagined.

We’ve also helped churches avoid expensive mistakes, showing them that they didn’t need to spend what they thought, or steering them away from solutions that would have frustrated their team and limited their ministry for years.

The churches that skip proper consulting often end up with systems that don’t quite fit, teams that struggle to operate them, and the realization that they need to start over—which is always more costly and disruptive than getting it right the first time.

This service isn’t just about new equipment. It’s about wise stewardship, investing in right-sized solutions that will actually empower your ministry and equip your people for the long haul.

What Happens Next

If you’re ready to move forward, we’ll send you an order document with the service agreement. Once that agreement is signed and we’ve received payment, we’ll get your on-site visit scheduled. Within fourteen to thirty days after we visit, you’ll have your program report in hand, and you’ll finally have the clarity and confidence you need to make the right decision for your church.

Here at Churchfront, we help churches choose right-sized sound, video, and lighting solutions for their goals, budget, and space. Then we equip their teams with the training and coaching they need to run those solutions confidently, so technology serves your ministry instead of distracting from it.

We are honored that you are considering working with us, and we are here to serve you well. Let’s get you the clarity you need.
